  1. I receive max attendance allowance. I wasn’t allowed to claim disability because I retired before I claimed. I thought that I was doing the correct thing for the country. Now I am loosing out altogether. It keeps getting worse.

  3. I,m a disabled ex serviceman, and retired. UC don’t want or will not help because they don’t deal with retired people. Councils don’t help. So all pensioners are on their own. PIP,s don’t care I have had a fall seriously breaking my leg with a artificial hip in, made my disability worse, but PIP,s don’t want to know. So again disabled pensioners are on their own. There is no government department willing to know or help. So all pensioners either eat or heat, and face eviction because there’s no help with rent or council tax. There’s no such thing as welfare . Makes me mad when immigrants get it all when they do nothing for this country. When people like us have to suffer, after serving this country. The government has got it all wrong.

    • Your anti-immigrant rant does you no service. Stop listening to evil people like Fartage. The UK has been pillaging countries around the world, enslaving people and inviting them to do their dirty work. Very few Brits want to be care workers or farm labourers etc.

The fact that you’re an ex-serviceman entitles you to no special privileges. All servicemen do is perpetuate war and colonialism. How many innocent people did the UK kill in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and now bombing Yemen.

If you have no state pension, you should be entitled to pension credit. Once you get that you would get help with council tax and rent payments. However, if you get the full state pension, like I do, then there is no additional help. As the article states, you may be eligible for Attendance Allownce. Claim. If refused, appeal.

    • Contact Age U.K they will help you fill in the forms they know what it needs to complete them correctly, I didn’t think I would be eligible but got the higher rate, phone your local one and make an appointment

  5. It has always been PIP for under retirement age and Attendance Allowance for over. Attendance Allowance does not come with a mobility component, so he is not giving away anything extra, just teasing people as usual.

    Reply
    • Yes Robert that is still the case the govt doesn’t make it clear that attendance allowance is for people over retirement . Who don’t have pip which you get after retirement if you claimed pip before retirement
